Strike a pose, a Dailey Method pose!

Here I am striking a Dailey Method pose shortly after crossing the finishing line of the 6th continent marathon in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 7 July 2013.  The Dailey Method® (TDM) Paris was the first to come on board as a sponsor and I am very grateful for their support and encouragement thus far.  

 

TDM is a system of strengthening and stretching all the major muscle groups in the body. It combines ballet barre work, core conditioning, yoga, and orthopedic exercises. Each set of exercises is also followed by a series of active stretches. I was not sure if TDM classes would suit me at the beginning as I was worried it would be too "low-impact" for me. I was immediately proven wrong! TDM exercises have left my legs shaking out of exertion and beads of sweat dripping down my face. The men who've joined us in classes often end up with T-shirts completely soaked through with perspiration ;) TDM classes are definitely helping me to (i) build up my core and other major muscle groups and (ii) stretch (something I often neglect to do) my muscles. A perfect complement to my running regime :)
